NEIL MCGARRY RETURNS TO THE STEEPLE
OCTOBER 18, WITH “BURBAGE”
After his acclaimed performance of CHARLES DICKENS’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL last December, Neil McGarry returns to New Bedford’s Steeple Playhouse with BURBAGE, “a part he was born to play” (Paul Babin, Cape Cod Times.). Written by Nicholas Minella, BURBAGE will be presented once only at the Steeple, Friday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The play tells the rarely told story of Richard Burbage, the renowned Elizabethan actor who first performed many of Shakespeare’s leading roles, and brought to life such iconic characters as Hamlet, Macbeth, Richard III and King Lear. More than a decade since BURBAGE was named a Cape Cod Times Critics’ Favorite, McGarry has returned to the solo play, and has remounted the production for touring for the 2024/2025 season.
